My mom is kind of a prude. She does not like to see nakedness, or being naked.

A few years ago, my mom told me about when there was a Playboy club in Boston. My father's boss had a key and lent it to him so my parents could have a night out. A couple weeks after she told me about this, my sister called me. Her and my teen-age niece were watching Girls Next Door and my sister told my niece that Grandma posed for Playboy and wanted me to confirm. Of course I did. Lying to little kids is tradition.

The following Saturday, both my mother and I were over my sister's for breakfast. My niece comes in and asks "Grandma, were you in Playboy?" My niece is thinking "posed for the magazine", my mom is thinking "went to the club" and my mother looks at me all horrified and yells "JENNIFER! YOU CAN'T KEEP A SECRET, CAN YOU?" So she pretty much incriminated herself. My niece's response was "Grandma! That's so cool!"

So this has been a big joke between my sister and I. When we finally cleared it up to my mother, she now goes along with it. So now that my niece is older, she knows the truth, but last year at Greek Easter, we convinced my nephew that Grandma posed for Playboy. Then we brought it up again on his birthday and whenever we feel like making him uncomfortable.

Rest In Peace, my mother's first love.

For good.
Definitely for good.
yea.....good.
Besides without Hef, we never would have had Dorothy Stratten.

And without Dorothy Stratten, we never would have had Galaxina.

But then again, without Hef, Dorothy Stratten probably wouldn't have gotten brutally murdered by her estranged husband Paul Snider.

But then we wouldn't have had Star 80.

So.....
meh..I'm going with "good".

Well, it happens that I heard the news of Hef's death last week at the tiki bar. The bartender and I reminisced and joked about our youthful experiences with the magazine, while our younger friend looked Hef up on his smartphone.
