Quote:
Chuck Mosley, the vocalist for the mid-Eighties run of pioneering alt-metal outliers Faith No More, died Thursday at the age of 57. The singer pioneered what would eventually become rap-rock on the band's first hit, 1987's snarky MTV breakthrough "We Care a Lot." He left the band shortly after and did a stint as the singer of Bad Brains in the early Nineties. After embarking on a solo career, he made a handful of onstage guest appearances in the years since Faith No More's 2009 reunion.

It was a dirty job and he did it well.

R.I.P., Chuck.

Faith No More showed up late for a gig at a teen night club I hung out at because their van broke down on the way. After the show we offered them a place to stay at our 2 bedroom apartment that already housed 3 guys and 4 girls.

Things I remember about that night.

1. Underage shopping for booze with Billy Gould was fun.
2. Jim Martin sat in a chair, drink Jack Daniels straight from a bottle in a St Vitus t-shirt. Said nothing and pretty much creeped everyone out.
3. Roddy Bottum did NOT smoke weed no matter how many times my one friend kept saying "Really?"
4. Mike "Puffy" Bordin was pretty funny and sociable.
5. Chuck Mosely sat on our phone all night.

They were gone in the morning and left all this FNM swag which has been gone for decades now.

One month later we received a $300 phone bill with long distance calls to South America. Thanks Chuck.

Also caught him during his early 90's stint with Bad Brains. It was OK, but he was no H.R. He did the hardcore and another guy did the reggae.

RIP.
