I don't think I posted my 53 in here yet. But here goes. It's a 1953 Chrysler New Yorker Hearse. This is a pic of what it looked like before I got it. So far, I had the engine rebuilt, it's rewired and is now 6 volt vs 12. 4 barrel Holley carb (that I rebuilt), alternator (vs generator), new water pump, new... (pretty much everything in the engine compartment has been replaced).

Right now my challenge is to hook up the rear wiring harness (for the brakes, reverse, blinkers) and tune the carb. (not my forte).

That's a beautiful Hearse. Can't wait to see the progress. Wiring, hate it.

It's purple (been purple now for years) and I have a pattern, padded vinyl top on it. Headlights are good, the wiring harness has been in for years - just got to get the back harness hooked up. I think there's a potential grounding issue somewhere as the battery will get drained overnight. I keep it unhooked for now.

I must say, that is a awesome ride and project.

I wrote a tune years ago about the adventures of driving a Big Black Cadillac Hearse. If interested, check out the free mp3 tune on my web site under music.
