Going to have to ask the fellows to keep an eye peeled for 61 galaxies and or fairlanes in the Ohio Area, going chep or in boneyards, as I am going to have to find some parts, and possibly sheetmetal.....

So THere i s a money order in the mail, and the sheet metal is going to be traveling to me via greyhound..Flop of Flop Customs is going to be doing the metal work.. I am sooo stoked to have her back together.....

Well it is well on its way to being whole again! I am going to have to refigure out my online photo hosting info so that I can post pics of how she stands right now..
however inthe interm I had forgotten that on the way to the last HRHH that the rear end oil seal had started to let go, and even tho I kept filling it, I forgot about it while she sat after the wreck.. so now it is an issue that has to be dealt with.. cant wait to get driving her again!

Yinz, you so need to bring the 61 out to Festiki. My 66 is leaking
about a quart of ATF a day but by golly I'm gonna drive it, I'll kill
some grass for the cause. I have never had a car at a FOM event, so sad.

Ok a bit of an update on the ol 61..
IT seems that the fear of a spun bearing, or worse was premature..
After doing alot of reading, and conferring with the guys in the Car club I am in and tearing pans, covers and caskets apart it seems there is nothing physically wo=rong wiht the ol girl..
Of all the damn things and I know some will get a laugh out of this.. it may have been that I didnt put in a lighter weight oil in her.. Soo The combo of frigid ass weather, and me having to press her into service in the winter may have been the cause.. It seems that the 20/50 that I had put in during the summer just got way to cold and didnt want to flow at all..
I have since temporarily put her back together and given her a test run and found no problems...
go figure
