That'll make a cool little gasser and should be a handful with
the short wheelbase. Post plenty of updates as you fix it up.

thanks! everyone keeps telling me to leave it pink. it's the factory original color believe it or not. i just don't know if i can have a pink car. my friend Steve suggested that i just leave it, "pink on the inside."

i plan on trying to document everything as well as i can. it'll be a slow process since i don't have a large budget to work with. any tips on installing straight axles there, Eric? it's a unibody car, so i'll be building frame rails front to rear. i can't wait until it's together and running. i've had a bad itch for a fast car for a long time. this thing may have to see some track time every now and then.

Nice find man! I like the idea of a pink inside, but with flat black exterior.

Very Cool Freaky! I like the "pink on the inside" idea.. that would make for some great lettering along the doors...

And the parts pile grows. Anything you need me to keep an eye out for?

i'm still kicking around front axle ideas. at this point, it looks like i'll most likely be going with a speedway axle kit. however, i just discovered another possibility that would be way cheaper and still net me the disc brakes, etc. if you know of anyone with a 93 or newer jeep cherokee (NOT grand cherokee) 2 wheel drive front axle assembly, let me know. looks like the track width and everything will be super close. i may have found one, but i just started looking today.

i still need brake booster/master, some low back buckets or high back old style racing buckets, 8 track tape deck, loads of 70's rock and roll 8 tracks, a nice flake steering wheel, an old school tach, wheelie bars, etc. still kicking around engine options. i have the 460/C-6 combo, but am open to other stuff if it's known to run or i can hear it run. i found an aluminum olds 215, that is a runner with a 2x2 intake and carbs and a 2 speed trans. not sure i want the 2 speed trans though. i'd like to be able to drive this thing to say....dayton or c-bus or the pileup, etc. i'm thinking the 460 will give me all the power i really need/want without going too radical to be dependable.

seats are definitely MG. i found upholstery for them online.
here are some more pics of parts and mock up.

front axle robbed from a 2 wheel drive jeep cherokee (1984-2001). with this i get front disc brakes and save a TON of $ over buying the Speedway axle kit. front springs and hangers are from www.etrailer.com .
Image

front axle all cleaned up of the brackets that will not be used.
Image

rear axle. 8.8 Trac-Loc out of a Mustang GT.
Image

MOCK UP!!! i can't wait to get this thing on the road!!!!
