Hello there,

I'm Tim, a friend of Ahu's from Cleveland. We've been kicking around the idea of starting a Cleveland FOM chapter. I confess I've not milled around in the forum for quite some time. So I guess a short resume is in order:

- Quite possibly Cleveland's premier shameless tikiphile. I possess more fezzes, aloha shirts and tiki mugs than any human legally should. Proud owner of a Hoffman Pottery Kahiki mug (though sadly never went there).
- Developer of the tiki cocktail program at Portside Rum Distillery, here in Cleveland's Flats East Bank area. Also running a gin cocktail program behind the stick at Griffin Cider House on the west side.
- Now a regular participant in the Ohana Luau at the Lake, runner-up in this year's cocktail competition, and shaker in one of the beloved 2015 roomcrawls.
- Known as "he who keeps the lights on" at our local Porco Lounge & Tiki Room. Avid tiki traveler outside Ohio whenever possible.
- Frequent tiki cocktail shaker at our home tiki bar, which has an absurd number of recipe books.
- Proud bearer of tiki tattoos.

I think that pretty well covers it. I may think of more later.

Anyhow, I'm about as well connected to any tikiphiles in the Cleveland area. And I am certain I would have the full support of Porco.

Let's have a chat, yeah?

Mahalo,
Tim

Aloha and welcome to the Port!

Forming a chapter is the domain of active Fellow Moai so the path to a chapter begins with the path to membership.

Enjoy the journey!

Aloha! Would love to see a Cleveland chapter! I'd like to organize a Cleveland trip! We spoke briefly about it at Ohana. Hmm...if you're still ok with that, let me see if I can find out when folks would be interested in a field trip. I will message you.

Please do! I am sure Porco would love to have us all. It's long overdue for anyone who has not been there yet.

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone. Feel free to throw out some dates for a Cleveland visit and I will assure that Porco is ready for our group.

Incidentally, Portisde has discontinued their tiki program for the season so a secondary tiki stop is not on the menu there. But Society Lounge downtown does some top notch Jungle Birds and other concoctions. Velvet Tango Room is very near Porco if you like modern and classic cocktails, but be aware they run $18 each as a standard.

Aloha, Tim of the North Coast, He Who Keeps the Lights On.

A Cleveland chapter sounds like a great idea. I hope that works out.

Hey, sorry to be late to this party, I was wondering around Mictlan when you first dropped by. Just wanted to give a shout out to my Cleveland brethren. I graduated from River but spent most of my time divided between Coventry and The Phantasy in Lakewood. Glad to see Cleveland has some Tiki folk kicken around. Aloha and welcome to our funky little port.

Cheers, LuRu. Likely see you at the next Ohana by the looks of that photo.
