The Hukilau's fb has announced dates and that passes would go on sale November 1st...
It's December 20th and still haven't seen a link for tickets or special room deals. (mentioned on the fb)
If you visit their website, it's still linked to all the old dates and tickets.
Is this the end for the Hukilau?!?!?

I'd be surprised by that, I talked to one of the new owners earlier in the year and they were really excited about the plans for 2018.

But maybe this is why we always announce Ohana ticket sales on fairly short notice 8)

I don't think so... in fact, I know a band who's been booked for next year :)

I was just in Denver last month and met with Richard Oslinger, new owner, for drinks and he has every intention of continuing and improving Hukilau. I do not think, Steve, the other investor from last year, is a part of the scene anymore.

I also caught up with the Intoxicators recently and they have indicate they have accepted Richards invitation to play this coming year. I do believe it overlaps with our very own RumMums Miami Rumfest. I think both events have been in communication and are playing nice with a lot of mutual Aloha.

I got a couple e-mails in the last two days saying that tickets are now on sale so it's definitely a go.

The bad news.... my travel schedule will not allow me to attend this year.
The good news... I will be in Hawaii 8)

The Miami Rum Fest has been moved in date and location to Ft. Lauderdale to coincide with Hukilau, too.

Yes, we have moved Rum Renaissance Festival to be at the same time as The Hukilau. We are coordinating our event with them, although we will be at the Broward Country Convention Center and our host hotel is the Hilton Marina. We feel it will make for good synergy.

We feel it is a good match up as most of The Hukilau events are at night and our show is during the day on Saturday and Sunday. We think people in town for our show will enjoy parties at the Pier 66 at night. Really the only time we clash at all is on Saturday during the day when Hukilau plans a pool party with pop up bars. Hukilau never plans much for Sunday so we hope many will come over to the Rum Festival and check it out.

We were surprised it took Hukilau so long to get their web site up and running and tickets on sale. We were ready to go long before they were. They still need lots of work on the site, including adding info about Rum Renaissance, but I am sure it will be taken care of soon. Getting all the seminars lined up early is challenging for all of us. Soon come!

There are plans for a JOINT Wrap Party after both shows on Sunday evening. We are working with Richard on the details and hope to announce it soon.

The Hukilau musical lineup is very, very strong this year. This (alone) is going to be a strong draw to the event. Kudos to the planners for putting together this lineup.

Martian Denny's Orchestra
Mr Ho's Orchestroica Quintet
The Madeira
The Royal Pacifics
Black Flamingos
Los Straitjackets
The Intoxicators
The Exotics

Yes, Los Straitjackets at Ohana was fantastic!

I am super excited about the Rum Renaissance Festival team up with the Hukilau. This sounds like a winning combo to me!
