Aloha!

It is so rad to know that FOM is a charitable organization. Would love to hear more about this aspect from you.

What is your favorite memory from volunteering? What was the event like and what encouraged you to get involved?

Mahalo in advance. Looking forward to hearing your stories. :)

Our big charitable event is every June in Lake George, NY: Ohana, Luau at the Lake. We raise tons of money for charity there while having a drunken great time! The Red Palms chapter also put on the Chicago Area Tiki Tour in April, which also raised a bunch of money. We gave over $37,000 to charities last year via fundraising events, direct donations, stuff like Amazon Smile, etc.

As for favorite memories, it's all a little blurry. :drunk:

That amount of donations is staggering and fantastic. Really hoping to become a Moai. Would love to make the world a better place while I’ve got a drink in my hand! Lol

You should consider going up to O'hana next year... It is a long weekend of adult fun...Like a crazy summer camp with booze and charitable donations. Tons of fun!
I wish you were closer to us down here in South Florida to meet the local tribe.

Take a look at the news page at Fraternalorderofmoai.org for all sorts of information about our charitable activities.

There was a time when people read some of the FAQ before posting questions to forums, package stores sold Lemon Hart 80, and the Concord made super sonic flights between Europe and New York.

My apologies. I’m very good at research and was moreso trying to get a personal take from you guys. Figured it would be a conversation starter. Not all who appear to be wandering are lost. ;)

Sounds like the best time ever! I wish I were closer, too. Hoping the tiki scene picks up more in my area. Right now it’s mostly sports bars and sports bars disguised as tiki bars. Lol

A major problem of our time but now we have actual examples of decent tiki bars all over the place so there is hope.

Absolutely! As long as we keep exploring and stay open-minded we’ll find all of the hidden gems. :)
