I'm very fortunate that work and life in general have decided to play nicely and let me attend the Hukilau for the second time, and Portland's Tiki-Kon for the first. I hope to see a lot of FOM Moai at these events, as I aspire to Moai-dom myself!

Besides planning to attend these events (and visiting the nearby bars), I've had a great "tiki year" so far. I've made return trips to Three Dots and a Dash, the Hala Kahiki, the Tiki-Ti, Tonga Hut, Otto's Shrunken Head, Lei Low, Howie's Tiki, The North Shore Lagoon, Hale Pele, and the Alibi. I made it to Navy Strength and Mother of Pearl for the first time, too.

My tiki cup runneth over, but there's always more adventuring to do. To that end, I and 3 of my oldest friends make up The 4 Kahunas, opening a tiki lounge of the same name next month in north Texas. 2018 has been really exciting so far, I hope all of you are able to live out some of your dreams this year, too!

Aloha! This post looks familiar--has it washed upon our shores previously?

Since you are in Ft. Lauderdale for Hukilau be sure to stop by http://www.RumRenaissance.com and visit the Gumbo Limbos! They/we are hosting a seminar on Sunday at 6:00 PM, June 10!
