Aloha,

I am Robert Coleman of Martinez, CA. I have learned that there is the Tuauru Chapter of Northern CA, FOM. Myself and my wife, Cindy, have been active members in the tiki community of the SF Bay Area and the East Bay. I originally was born and raised in Hermosa Beach, a Southern CA community. I'm old enough to say, "I got to see many of the great tiki bars and restaurants of Southern CA". We have been residing in Northern CA since 1981, but still get down to Southern CA quite often. I am a retired optometrist. I became more involved in all things Tiki-Hawaiian-Polynesian in the mid-1990's, around when tiki was starting to re-appear on the West Coast. My wife and I travel to Hawaii 2x per year. We have also been to the mothership, Easter Island. We have also visited American Samoa, and have vacationed in Tahiti and surrounding islands.

We support the tiki community and participate in quarterly vendor shows at Trader Vic's and other venues in Southern CA. We also support the tiki artist community. I have a large collection of tiki mugs, carvings and framed art. We also have a lovely backyard patio (lanai) that is tiki/polynesian-themed. So to say we live "the island life style" might be an understatement. We have been to the Hukilau in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (2018), Tiki Caliente (2019) and are planning on attending Tiki Oasis AZ this October (keep your fingers crossed).

We have made many friends through our association and interest in tiki. Maybe some of these people are FOM members and know me (looking for a sponsor or more...hint, hint).

Mahalo,
TikiBoB48

Thank you for all the Aloha. Trying to post an image of myself in the sidebar. I found the avatar listing in the user Control Panel and was able to select an image but it does not appear. Also what pixel setting is required? Any help would be appreciated. Still sitting on the shore, playing with my sand toys.

Aloha!

Welcome to the islands and enjoy the journey.

Perhaps you can join us in June 2021 for Ohana: Luau by the Lake or Hukilau next year.

Thanks for the reply. My wife and I attended Hukilau in 2018 and Tiki Caliente in 2019. Have not been to Ohana by the Lake. We are booked for Tiki Oasis AZ in October 2020.

That's what happens when an Angeleno is assimilated by the Norteños

"Maximum dimensions; width: 128 pixels, height: 172 pixels"

Alohowdy, and welcome!

Thank you most exalted one. I was able to figure it out. You needed to take your image and downsize it to the proper dimension. Hey....I'm still a beach boy at heart. Even though I live in El Norte, I still wear my flip flops, shorts and Hawaiian shirts all times of the year. We have a family home down in Hermosa Beach that we go down to often. Once they open up the beach again down there, I am going!

Aloha and nice to meet you here TikiBoB48! I think we may have met IRL at one of the Trader Vic's events or someone's home tikibar. Anyway, please continue to chat and make friends here on the forum, and if we ever get out of Shelter in Place, you might want to check out the Friends of Tuauru group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/FOMTuauru where we chat about local events... yea, remember those? LOL.

Thanks for all the greetings. Approaching another weekend. We've had some nice warm weather in our backyard Polynesian paradise (110 yesterday and 106 today). Smoked some BBQ ribs on the Traeger and made a shave ice drink. Best we can do in lockdown land. I'll check out the local Bay Area FOM's on Facebook and see if they want to come out to play. Talk to you later.

Aloha Bob!

I'm jealous of your travels and sad that we all missed Tiki Caliente 2020 recently.

What was your favorite island that you've visited?

We rebooked for Tiki Oasis AZ in October then we are driving to Palm Springs and staying at the Caliente Tropics Hotel. Kona, on the Big Island, is our go-to location (Hilton Waikoloa).

Were Bobs be 7 through 46 redacted?

They don't show up on the FOM Test Labs chrono-synchro database. It could be they will are to be happened. There is a Robertiko42 suave lounge pleasure robot project that was on going when the big accident occurred. That project doesn't seem relevant to the missing Bobs.
