Hi there, pretty new initiate who would like to join. I am in Western Mass and understand the Queequeg Chapter is for New England. How can I get involved? I've taken advantage of quarantine to become more familiar with tiki, something I have always enjoyed, and have been experimenting with cocktails/

So, teach me, O Moais!

You need to have a favorite drink, and an opinion on the NE Mai Tai. A pilgrimage East to the Kowloon is also necessary once in a while.

Originally from Florida, moved up to MA last year with the wife. Attorney by trade. Been taking advantage of quarantine by expanding my cocktail making skills, focusing on rum and tropical drinks.

Always had an affinity for Tiki, and Polynesian culture in general. Actually came quite close to accepting a job and moving to American Samoa a few years ago. And I have seen a real Moai in person! A few years ago in Chile.

Wanting to get to know like minded people in the area.

Looking forward to it!

The lure of an exotic foreign post is hard to resist.

You see records of people who live their entire lives in the same county or even town and wander how they cannot wonder what is on the other side of the forest. As Apres-Tiki observes: some people are happy sitting on the same barstool all of their lives while others want to sit on all of the barstools during the same lifetime.

My project since Quarantine began has been doing cocktail videos every night and putting them on Facebook, call them my Quarantinis. Last night was number 83, and good deal of them have been rum-based or tiki inspired. Just found a digital copy online of Trader Vic's cocktail guide the other day, which should keep me busy.

Haven't found anything. I am told I need to hit up Kowloon when I am able, so looking forward to that

Aloha and welcome! If you return to Florida for a visit be sure to let us Gumbo-Limbos know. We're always looking for an excuse to go out for cocktails. (And often do so even without an excuse.)
