I would like to formally announce my sincere interest in joining FOM. (Note: My wife, Jennifer (a.k.a. JennPilot) is also interested, but I know she needs to make herself known individually on this board.)

I feel very fortunate that through my participation in various tiki events over the past few years (but especially CATT and Inhuele) that I have gotten to know many FOM members. Three fantastic members - and good friends - live in Durham, NC and we see and/or communicate with each other regularly. I would love to expand FOM's footprint in the Durham area by becoming a member. FOM is a wonderful organization filled with great people. I would like to be part of this community.

I know this process is not quick, but I am very willing to take the time - as well the dedication and love - it takes to become a member.

Thanks!

Aloha, Mohowie!

I’m so glad to see this post! I can certainly vouch for your love of all things tiki ... from your expert cocktail skills, your most awesome BullTiki home bar, and your inspiring sense of fashion (you’re my fashionista!), I’m glad you’ve started down the path. I know that Durham FOM ZsaZsaRumWhore, Rocketbetty, and I are glad to call you (and Jenn!) friend.

Here’s a question for you ... what’s the most unusual cocktail you’ve made, or cocktail ingredient you’ve used in a drink, or cocktail that went horribly off-course?

... and can I have another, please? ;-)

Woohooooo!! So happy to see this declaration! Mohowie has not mentioned that he is also a big part of the Beaver Queen Pageant! He did an amazing job as Ethel Furman back in the day and is all about a good time(and a great outfit)! Welcome to the shores!

Some quick dumb questions:

Liquid or powered detergent?

Favorite special cocktail ingredient?

How does one pronounce Inuhele?

****7/15/20 - The most unusual cocktail I have made came from a post you made a couple of weeks ago. The drink is "There's Always Money in the Banana Stand" from Minimalist Tiki. Cinnamon syrup, banana liquor, allspice dram, Chartreuse, and a peaty Scotch . WOW! Weird, but really good.

I am having fun playing with the Circus Peanut Syrup from B.G. Reynolds. I created a cocktail called "Mexican Carnival" using this syrup, lime juice, and tequila. I rim the glass with Tajin Mexican seasoning. Delicious!

My "horribly off course" cocktails are usually when I don't measure and free pour. I think measuring your ingredients is one of the most important things when making a tasty - and well balanced!! - cocktail.****

Favorite special cocktail ingredient? I love passion fruit syrup. It is yummy. But I also like throwing a dash or two of Herbsaint in a cocktail. It gives a drink a "little something sommething" in flavor.

How does one pronounce Inuhele? With their mouth! :)
