I've really been into different Tiki music over the years but I believe my repertoire to be thin. I feel there is much out there I'm missing out on. I first got into exotica with the sounds of Fantastic Plastic Machine and Tipsy. After that I began digging into Les Baxter, Arthur Lyman and Combustible Edison. I love Les Baxter, there is a real analog big band sound that feels so authentic and the mastering is excellent on most Baxter albums (I'm into audio a bit).

Any Moai have recommendations of where I should sail my ship next for some new tunes? With working from home now, I've been listening to music a lot more and spent some time building up new audio systems to enjoy it on. Also, any audiophiles in the group?

Cheers!

Look into Don Ralke, Milt Raskin, and WAITIKI of course.

Aloha, Captain!

Here are some other resources including my Spotify playlist:

Tikihut Honeycutt's Exotica Spotify Playlist: https://tinyurl.com/exoticaspotify

Quiet Village Radio - Tiki Music 24/7 - Exotica, Hawaiian & Lounge from yesterday & today. http://www.digitiki.com/radio/

Luxuria Music - Surf Music, Bossa Nova, Exotica, Space-Age Bachelor Pad, Jazz, Soft-Psych, Sunshine Pop, Wall of Sound, Latin, Go-Go, and Film & TV music of the past 50 years are expertly distilled and blended in order to concoct the “highly intoxicating and sometimes hallucinatory” LuxuriaMusic Sound. Somehow, in this context, it all makes sense. http://www.luxuriamusic.com/

SomaFM - Illinois Street Lounge - Playful exotica and vintage music of tomorrow. http://somafm.com/

just a heads up, Quiet Village radio seems to be down. The site is up, but the stream isn't up.

Cheers!

For some fun/different tiki music, check out http://soundsofdisneyland.com/ and select the Tiki Room. It's the music from the Disneyland show as well as the surrounding music to the attraction. Enjoy!
