The Islands of the Fraternal Order of Moai

They had some at the local grocery store, so I made a batch of pomelo-lime oleo-saccharum for pomelo daquiris.

I, er, didn't take any pictures of the daquiris. They were so delicious that I thought of little else. Apologies.

I never much thought about Pomelos because the ones we have here in the US tend to be a bit bland and dry, but when we were in Thailand a few years back we had them often and they were amazing...Flavorful, juicy... I wonder why it is difficult to geth that same quality of fruit here.

You're right, they aren't the same here, but even these peel made a surprisingly tasty oleo-saccharum and held much more oil than I expected it to.

I presume it's all about varietals/cultivars. I wonder if there is a nursery down here that specializes in them. For example, I enjoy driving down to Pine Island Nursery in Redland to get special varieties of Mangos and Lychees.

That sounds like a nice road trip. We should as RumMum...
