Did you whip up a holiday cocktail this year? Care to share? Would love to see!

I made some pecan orgeat for Maple-Bacon-Pecan flips. They were a hit with the family.

1.5 oz Chattanooga Bourbon
0.5 oz Rosie's Maple Bacon Bourbon
1.0 Pecan Orgeat
1 egg white

Hand to a nephew so they can shake it like a polaroid picture!

Is pecan orgeat a thing?! Looks tasty!

It was! I made it with turbinado sugar, thinking it would have pie-like flavors, and it certainly did.

I reckon you can make an orgeat out of any nut-milk that has good fat content, yes?

I hear hazelnut is delicious, too. So far Pistachio is my favorite all purpose orgeat.

I've been playing around with making tepache (fermented pineapple kombucha-esque, but actually good unlike kombucha).

My current go to has been:

Build in 8oz Mojito/Zombie Glass
Ice to the top
1.5oz of Plantation OFTD
2oz-ish of Tepache
Top with unfiltered Apple Cider
Stir
Microplane fresh cinnamon and nutmeg on top

The fire and bite of the Tepache works with the OFTD and Apple Cider. I like mine with a bit more burn coming though the sweetness of cider so I pour a bit heavy on the Tepache.

Inspired by 2020 I created a cocktail that sums up the year we had,
............Yellow Snow!!!!

Image

3 oz Pineapple Juice
2 oz Myers Platinum Rum
½ teaspoon vanilla syrup
1 large egg white
Lemon zest

Add all ingredients into a shaker and dry-shake (without ice) vigorously for 1 minute.
Pour mixture into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Let rest for a moment so the foam can settle on top.
Garnish with lemon zest.

For anyone not feeling the egg white, you can just skip it. It just won’t have as much frothy “snow”
