It is as close as you can get to a 12 o' clock high Dick Turpin that was mass produced.

She met the artist and got this and sent it to me for Christmas.

Now I'm looking for the perfect frame. :)

Brian Potash!!! He is the artist. I saw this print in its infancy! When it was going to be sold by the Mai Kai. Is that where she got it?

I don't think she has ever been to the Mai Kai. At least not in the 19 years that we have been here. She is an artist in Philly/ New Jersey Shore area. I think being in the artist community is how she met him.

He's a super good guy. Like my short evil twin. His home bar is largely responsible for my love of tiki.

Renee and I stopped by a landscaping supplier on the way home Saturday. Driving in, we were surprised by a horde of Moai:

Some Hawaiian idols:

And these two huge Moai. The first appears to be lime rock native to Florida:

And this one which appears to be of granite or a volcanic schist:

If you want the address, pm me.

Nice find, OZ - I wish some of the concrete guys around here would get on the tiki bandwagon! The ones we have stopped at have sadly been tiki-free

Found on Craigslist here locally yesterday - love me some gravel art! & these are in great shape!!

Kekona and I Didn't intend to do any junking this morning. So we were driving home from the gym and saw a church garage sale. Walked up paid our $1 cover charge, walked in and then quickly realized we'd missed something because it was all kids clothes and toys. We quickly left there having not scratched our thrift store itch. Drove down the road and saw a sign for an estate sale. Walked through and picked up a few goodies, but the real surprise was seeing this in the dining room. The time to buy it is when you see it and I'd never seen one of these folding Danish Modern dining tables. Welcome home baby!

So today will go down as a banner day for our junking careers. Kekona and I hit a local antique mall after Sunday brunch. First we came across a Shag print, not something that we ever see in Missouri, but at $2,500 it is still hanging there.

Image

Next we found this great Maori war club, which by its self would have made for a great day, but it continued.

Image

This was the real surprise....two Frankoma War God mugs...just begging to come home. This mug has been like the holy grail to me for the last 10 years. Everywhere I go, I've looked with hope and confidence that one day I'd find one, and now I've found two!
