Your pie is magnificent!

However, I'm gonna have to insist that you update this thread more often than once a decade.

Okay, Cowtown -- how 'bout once a year? Riptide requested mincemeat. I've never made it, never even eaten it.
So, of course, I couldn't go the easy route with mincemeat in a jar...

We are headed to Nashville for Turkeypalooza and, as always, I like to have proof that once upon a time my pie looked pretty good, in case the road trip is hard on it...

I wanted to make a pie that had real roots to Polynesia...So after much research I came up with a Banana Poe Pie. Poe seems to be the most authentic of the Polynesian desserts made with mashed Banana, Palm sugar, arrowroot and baked into a pudding-like consistency, then drizzled with unsweetened coconut cream. To that basic recipe I added lime zest, allspice, and a little Wray and Nephew. To make it feel more impressive for the presentation, I created a volcano of meringue with a little 151 torch on the top... May I present.... Banana Poe Pie Flambe

I revisited the recipe for our chapter meeting this past weekend and made them as tartlets in a lime scented shortbread crust. topped with an Amarena cherry and then blanketed with coconut cream that I whipped with a little coconut sugar. I think this was better than the pie...

We went to Georgia for Thanksgiving (as responsibly as we could manage). Riptide and Kekona's stepmom is in a battle right now*, and it seemed like some family time was much needed.

Riptide texted his dad to ask "what is your favorite pie?" and he returned a list of 6 or 7 pies as his "favorite." So, I ordered a couple of 7 inch pie pans, which take about half the filling of a normal 9" pie. That way we could have variety!

Hard to tell from this pic's perspective, but the mincemeat and the pumpkin in the back are full size, and the chocolate and peanut butter pies are the 7 inchers. They were all very tasty. The peanut butter was made with mascarpone and was the best pbp I've ever made...

Patty your pies look amazing! Huzzah for Mincemeat! It is becoming one of those lost desserts...No one in my office ever heard of it before. I can't imagine Christmas or Thanksgiving without it.
That PBP looks epic!!

Dang those pies look awesome! Having eaten your pies from last year I am certain they are amazing this year as well!

But PEANUT BUTTER PIE!?!? I MUST HAVE this! I MUST! YUUUUUUUMMMM!

“Update” after reading this post and eyeballing that pie I had an intense craving that had to be satisfied! Peanut butter on a spoon drizzled w honey had to suffice! Sigh...

So who must I charm w my witty ways to score such a delicious peanut butter pie?!?

Dont you look away savage Patty! Dont you do it! (Wink).
