Aloooooha!

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that you need to add this year's Makahiki to your calendar. The event is on Saturday, September 14th.

So mark it down and be ready for ticket sales later on this year. :fez:

Looking forward to meeting you! I'm pretty sure we met last year, but I was a bit on the tipsy side by the end of the night. Ha!

Safari Faye and I missed it last year because we had a gig, but we plan on making it this year. Looking forward to seeing our Ohana and meeting some new ones! Plus... new bars!

With trade winds out of the west, we will set sail on an enchanted journey, seeking the many wonders, the islands have to offer. Happy hour at the Inferno room, then dinner at the Mug n Bun, followed by Mai Tai's at the Makahiki. The Rapa Nui are smiling down, indeed.

darnit- just seeing this now. I've got a charity event for the local children's hospital that weekend. :( Oh, well. Hopefully next year.

Any suggestions on what to do during the day on Saturday? Last year, we did the paddle boats by the museums and walked around. We're still trying to iron out our arrival time. :)

Thank you for the suggestions. I am unsure when we are getting in on Friday, but we are staying in the Fountain Square Area. :) I'll go over your suggestions and if all else fails, come clean your garage. ;)

Mahalo!!!!

Spent a great day in Indy. IMS safety patrol day at the track, in the afternoon, then happy hour at the Inferno Room. Made it to Makahiki early, just before the start time of 6.30 only to find no parking available. Parked down the street, went inside, the place was already packed, with more people pouring in. Shopped the vendors, had a few drinks, caught the first set of the first band, but no seats, means sore feets. Had to give up and finally go home at 8 because just couldnt stand all night long with no place to sit. Other than that, had a great time, for what little time we were there. Really enjoyed the opening band, great surf guitar, will have to check out the rest of the bands on youtube.

Mahalo for a great event! We got there early and enjoyed the wonderful drinks, while we waited for the yummy dinner. I really enjoyed seeing the group that played before dinner time, thank you for the wonderful music and stepping in for the group that cancelled. The food was great, as always. We enjoyed talking to 'Indiana Joe' and his wife Lisa and two lovely ladies from Grand Rapids, whose names have escaped my rum soaked mind! (They both started with an A!) Thank you for the lovely conversation, if you're reading!!! Mike and I both spoke about how much we enjoyed conversing over dinner with the people at our table.

I thought the vendors were a nice addition! We also bought two event shirts. :)

We left shortly after the bands started, bu we are sure the rest of the night night was absolutely fabulous! (We had not seen each other in ten days, so we excused ourselves early.)

We enjoyed exploring Fountain Square and the Flecthcer Place areas. We experienced great hospitality all around.

Thanks for hosting!
