I'm curious as to what everyone is sipping on during this apocalypse? I mean, I assume everyone is drinking during this, right?

I've been drinking a lot of gin martinis and red wine.

A fellow after my own heart. I also have been drinking a bunch of gin martinis, but there's not much red wine about, so I'm afraid we've had to make do with champagne.

Oh well!! Hey, it's about that time of year at your house, is that why there's a glut of champagne?

Oh, and we've been on a Mai Tai kick, but it looks like that's about to give way to a QB Cooler kick. I'm especially missing Belgian beer these days.

Scorpion bowl, blended.

The rum and brandy are antiseptic and the OJ, lemon and almond can’t hurt, right?

I'm afraid there's a glut because I panic bought champagne instead of toilet paper. That'll teach me to drunkenly order delivery booze!

Champagne isn't so bad, but my husband doesn't drink it, so I then end up drinking an entire bottle by myself, as it's a bit more flat the next day.

As for the red wine, I bought 4 boxes and each box equals 4 bottles. One box has already been killed.

I will happily unload your burden of champagne from you. It is my favorite.

However, I am drinking Aviations when I am not at work.

With everything going on, I wanted to buy local, so I'm drinking Stillwright's Spiced Rum, distilled in nearby Fairborn Ohio.

Mixing time not an issue these days, so I've selected a different classic tiki beverage for each week of confinement:

Week 1--Painkiller--DUH! (Pusser's Gunpowder strength)
Week 2--Mai Tai (with nightly recipe/rum variations)
Week 3--Rum Barrel (same)
Week 4--Zombie (BG Reynolds Paradise Blend recipe)
Week 5--Big Bamboo (House of Foong Lin version)
Week 6--Saturn (Hayman's Naval strength gin)

Looks like we'll be locked down here in DC for at least 2-3 more weeks. Suggestions?

But if I lived anywhere near the Mai Kai, I'd be swimming in their Jet Pilot--which they're selling (take-away) by the gallon!

3 weeks ago today, I had already let my staff telework as much as they liked and I was the only person in the office. I knew that come Monday my whole university would switch to telework for every job that could be done from home. I had vacation scheduled for the following week that was meant to be renting a condo at the beach with my brother and his family from Ohio. Since that was cancelled, I was not taking vacation. It was a gorgeous sunny day, so I blew off the afternoon and socially distanced by driving the usually 45 to 60 minutes from Fort Lauderdale to Del Ray in about 25 minutes and picked up 750ml of mai tai's and 750ml of old fashioned from Death or Glory. It was such a treat to get such fine cocktails and support good friends, and not have to worry about the drive home. Then last week, I picked up one of those gallons of jet pilots from the Mai Kai. Still have quite a few. Should last until they do it again next Friday.

Just picked up a nice assortment to restock, tonight seems to be an El Dorado 15 kind of evening.

Waiting for my local Stop & Shop to start carrying gallons of RUM BARRELS!

Drinks here are all over the place - local beer, soon to be my beer that I brewed for OHANA and whatever Mixel tells me I can make with ingredients on hand.

I FINALLY DID IT! A drink where the hibiscus lives!

3/4 Oz lime juice
1 oz Hibiscus liqueur
1/4th oz cinnamon syrup (using ceylon)
1/2 oz smith and cross
1 oz Kirk and Sweeney 12
1 oz bacardi 4 year

Shake, open pour, garnish with bits of cinnamon to form XI, as it was my 11th attempt
