Hi! I just wanted to formally introduce myself to everyone. I'm Howard Wood (a.k.a. Mohowie) in Durham, NC My wife and I have been into the tiki scene now for about eight years. (My wife is Jennifer - a.k.a. JennPilot) Our introduction to tiki was via Rocket Betty and The Hukilau. Since then, our passion for this wonderful community and all things tiki has grown. Besides going several times to The Hukilau, we have traveled to Ft. Lauderdale for small, private gatherings to enjoy the Mai Kai. What a special place!! Additionally, we participated in the 2019 CATT, and the 2019 and 2020 Inuhelele. The icing on the cake was in November, 2018, my wife and I officially opened our home tiki bar - Bull Tiki.

Durham has a very small, but passionate, tiki scene. I am friends locally with Rocket Betty, Zsa Zsa Rumwhore, and Tiki Tom Tom. I would like to expand FOM's numbers in Durham (and the greater Triangle area).

Are we part of a tiki scene? I never noticed if I made the grade. I guess it is because of my daytime job. But hey, it keeps my tiki lifestyle doing alright.

I'm so glad to see you post this, and glad to be part of the Durham scene with you, Jenn, Rocketbetty, and ZsaZsaRumWhore. I've so enjoyed having the great fortune to spend more virtual time over the last several weeks with you and KahunaCP on the zoombies. Bring on the peanut syrup!

For those of you that have not had the pleasure of visiting Bull Tiki, Mohowie's home bar ... it's amaaaahzing. Beyond the menu he's posted, the collection of tiki carvings, attention to detail, and more make for a super fun home bar. And, his sense of fashion is 2dye4.
