Tikiphiles in the Bay Area are working to rally support for the famous Tonga Room at the Fairmont Hotel which seems to be slated for destruction during a condo renovation according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

This news comes as a surprise after the circa 1945 hot spot got a $1 million makeover just last year.
