It is no secret that Jeff "Beachbum" Berry's books are popular here in the islands. The Grog Log is required reading for Initiate Moai Ra'e and a must have item for every home bar.

Unfortunately Grog Log, Intoxica! and Taboo Table are getting hard to find so we're very happy to hear the news that two of them will be available as reprints starting this summer. And even better, the Bum is releasing a new book later this year called Beachbum Berry Remixed which will be a compendium of recipes from previous books with revised and updated versions based on new research and of course plenty of new cocktails also.

But wait, summer is almost here and you want to try some of those revised recipes now, right? Well, if you're an iPhone or iPod Touch owner, or if you have been looking for an excuse to buy one, you don't have to wait. The Bum has teamed up with Martin Doudoroff of CocktailDB.com fame to produce an App called Tiki+ which has many recipes from the Bum's previous books and updated versions from the upcoming book.

Martin is also the creator of the Cocktails+ App which is a must have for fans of classic cocktails in all forms. Both of these Apps are gorgeous to look at and extremely easy to use. Definitely a must have for the mixologist on the go and well worth the price.

The Moai will be hitting the road soon to take in the Bum's new presentation on the paternity of the Mai-Tai at The Hukilau next month in Fort Lauderdale. Also be sure to look for Moai working behind the bars during the Hukilau Room Crawl.
