Auspicious Days

Summer is coming to an end but we have reason to celebrate here in the virtual islands.

First, September 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. What does that have to do with anything? Nothing really, but who doesn't like to walk around saying, "ARRRRR!" and drinking rum?

It also happens to be National Rum Punch Day on September 20th. The origins of this one are even more vague than National Rum Day but who doesn't like a nice rum punch?

Now, how to celebrate? Well this year the Moai will be in Lake George, NY, for the spectacular Ohana: Luau at the Lake and some mini-golf.... so on Talk Like a Pirate Day we'll probably be at Pirate's Cove.

When we get to the 19th hole we'll need a cocktail of course. Around here we always use the traditional rum punch recipe:

One of sour
Two of sweet
Three of strong
Four of weak

And the Moai always add Five dashes of bitters. Because we can.

See you at the Lake!
