First F.O.M. Scholarship awarded by Easter Island Foundation

Aloha,

Easter Island Foundation

In 2009 the F.O.M. donated a $2,000 to the Easter Island Foundation to fund a scholarship to be offered as The Fraternal Order of Moai Scholarship to a Rapa Nui student for use in paying college expenses.

Funds for this gift and other donations to the E.I.F. were raised at Ohana Luau at the Lake 2009 in Lake George, New York.

We are pleased to hear word from the E.I.F. that this first Fraternal Order of Moai Scholarship has been awarded to Ana Huki Fuentes while she attends the University of Valparaíso in Viña del Mar, Chile, where she is learning Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Meanwhile here in the virtual islands, plans for Ohana Luau at the Lake 2010 in June are rolling along and proceeds from this event will help to fund another scholarship next year. Come join the Moai at the Lake and experience fun with a purpose for yourself.

If you would like to support the work of the Easter Island Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, directly you can make a personal donation and become a Member. Tell 'em the Moai sent you.

Keep the torches burning,
