Tech saavy mixologists hail return of Tiki+ app

Beachbum Berry's Tiki+ app for iPhone and iPod Touch was getting a lot of buzz a year ago when it suddenly disappeared from the iTunes app store in the spring. Skorpiostech's other excellent app Cocktails+ soon followed. There are many other cocktail apps out there but none compare to the quality of Tiki+ since it is based on the Bum's impeccable research and condenses it into a portable resource you can take anywhere.

Eventually good news arrived when we learned that Martin Doudoroff had acquired the rights to Tiki+ and was working with the Bum on a new version which would support the iPad and offer new recipes from Beachbum Berry Remixed. Martin is well known for his work on with Ted "Dr. Cocktail" Haigh and his role in creating the first Tiki+ app.

But it was a long wait and people who had missed their chance to buy Tiki+ were starting to despair while jealously watching happy owners of the old version continue to use it. However, the app returned late last year just in time for Christmas.

Because of the change in ownership the new version is not a free upgrade and existing owners will have to buy it again if they want the update. But for the low price of $3.99 it is worth every penny just to get the new feature that lets you add notes to recipes. The photography in the app continues to be gorgeous especially on newer devices with a retina display. Once you see it running on an iPad you may just run out and buy one.

If you are an exotic mixologist on the go or just a fan who needs help ordering a decent cocktail in the neighborhood bar you should have this app at the ready.

And be sure to show the Bum some love and write a review for the app in the iTunes store.

Keep the torches burning,
