As August arrives the Fraternal Order of Moai has three events to carry us into Fall. First off we have Hot Rod Hula Hop #7 presented by the Kahiki and Kon-Tiki chapters on August 7th and 8th in Columbus Ohio. This fun filled weekend kicks off with a feast at the Grass Skirt Tiki room with music by Francis Llacuna and a charity Mystery bowl auction. Saturday at noon doors open to the public at the Sequoia Pro Bowl where there will be vendors, and a car show during the day and four bands and three performance by Mon Cherie Burlesque into the evening. Next up, on September 19th the PukaPuka chapter will be presenting Makahiki-A Night of Tiki at the Time Out Lounge in Indianapolis, Indiana. This charity event will showcase performances from The Cocktail Preachers, Roland Remington, The Troubadours, Rocket Doll Revue, Mimi Le Yu and Dr Johnny Yuma. Doors open at 7 for this night of fun. Closing out our year of events we have Ohana Luau by the Sea in Fort Lauderdale Florida October 1st through 3rd at the Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Airport Hotel. This three day event kicks off with a party at the Kreepy Tiki Lounge on Thursday night. Friday there will be time for the beach or to catch a carving demonstration by De Tiki Custom Carving. The evening takes the festivities to the World-Famous Mai Kai Polynesian Restaurant and Bar for dinner and a show.
